For the past ten years, WI’s Clean Energy Group has played a leadership role in the promotion
of commercially viable clean energy projects in
developing countries. An emphatic feature has
been the capacity building of local and regional
organizations to promote the development and use
of commercial renewable energy systems for productive
applications. These systems have had a positive
impact on community health and increasing the
crop yield and product quality, community health
and quality of life, leading to higher incomes
among rural residents. Winrock International also
has considerable experience with grants management
and programs encouraging regional cooperation.
