
SARI/Energy Executive Exchange to
Public Utilities Research Ceneter (PURC) for the 30th International Training Program on Utility Regulation and Strategy

This activity will involve sponsoring regulatory staff from all SARI/E countries to participate in the 30h International Training Program on Utility Regulation and Strategy in Gainesville, Florida. The program, which is collaboration between the Public Utility Research Center and The World Bank, focuses its training on regulatory best practices and strategies for effective regulation of the energy sector. The participants will learn problem-solving techniques, and exchange ideas and experiences during an international forum for the dissemination of relevant best practices and research. The international training program is an intensive, two-week course specifically tailored to the professional requirements of utility regulators and regulatory staff. During the two weeks, more than 50 sessions include case studies, practical exercises, and panel discussions with leading experts and international faculty. The course is designed to enhance the economic, technical, and policy skills required for implementing policies and managing sustainable regulatory systems for infrastructure sectors. The target participants will be regulatory staff from SARI/E countries, with no more than one commissioner per country, or staff from regulated utilities when appropriate.
