Ten energy executives from five South Asian countries analyzed and discussed the latest developments in solar energy implementation policies and technologies under the South Asia Regional Initiative for Energy (SARI/Energy) Renewable Energy Partnership. Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. Energy Association assembled ten energy professionals from Afghanistan, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka in Raleigh, North Carolina from May 15 to 20 to attend the SOLAR 2011 Conference and Exhibition. It is the longest-running educational event for solar energy professionals in the U.S. in its 40th year. Over 2,000 national and global leaders in solar energy gathered in Raleigh to discuss the state of the solar energy industry.
